I’ve always been a fan of words, but never much of a reader. Not that I didn’t like reading, its just that I am a magazine guy. It wasn’t until I picked up a copy of “The Source” and saw a review of “Dark” by Kenji Jasper that I really fell in love w/ the novel. Since then I realized that what you read says a lot about who you are in a relationship. So today I’m going to let you know what the books you read say about your personality.

Urban Lit:
If you’re a fan of the hood book, and read them exclusively than you may need to look at the type of mate you like. Are you hooked on thugs, drug dealers and bad boys? Do all of your ex girlfriends have a ghetto side which requires them to carry Texas Pete or Frank’s Red Hot in their purse? I found that people who read hood books, will treat their mates well, but often tend to put up with a little bit more abuse than the average chick. The women seem to love their ‘Trifling A$$ N***as‘ and the men will spoil their chicks while cheating on them with some bum chick who can’t hold a candle to their main.

Erotica:
The erotica reader tends to love sex. They love it so much that I find the some of them will have a hard time staying faithful in a relationship. They tend to be more open to the open relationship, they love masturbation and ironically some of them haven’t had sex in a long time. Weird right? I know.

Self Help Books:
If you read a lot of self help books it doesn’t mean that you’re crazy. It actually tells me that you’re so in tuned with yourself that you’re willing to get better at everything you do. This is such a great feature to bring into a relationship that it can even trump sex. Learning is the key to a great relationship and if you can consistently bring something new into your love life then you can count on having a lasting relationship.

Sex Guides:
Every so often when you look on someone’s bookshelf you’ll see 101 sex positions or a karma sutra book. This tells me you know exactly what to do in the bedroom or you’re willing to learn all the right things to make your lover explode. Also when it’s discovered that you’re reading a book like this, you’ve pretty much put your cards face up. No need to play the game anymore make it happen and let the practice begin.

Mainstream Books:
When you read books that don’t have a booty model on the cover, color font, and guns… this tells me you’re an open minded person who doesn’t have walls to what you like. The ability to be able to embrace another culture other than your own is an amazing trait to have. You are more likely to want the finer things in life and are down to experience the other side of love.

At the end of the day, what you read makes you. It changes your life, because once something is introduced into your mind it effects the way you think about life, love and the world in general.
